Project Description
Kathleen began teaching piano lessons as a high school student and has continued to teach private lessons since then. She graduated in 1989 from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, with a degree in Piano Performance and Music Education and taught elementary classroom music for 10 years at St. Paul Academy in St. Paul. For the past 20 years, she has been teaching private piano lessons in Duluth, first at the John Duss Music Conservatory and then in her home studio.
Kathleen thoroughly enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities and watching them grow musically. Private lessons allow her to tailor instruction and materials to the individual student based on their strengths and interests. Learning to read music, playing with expression, and improvising are an integral part of her lessons. In her free time Kathleen enjoys spending time with my her husband and four children, and also cooking, hiking, skiing and enjoying the natural beauty of Duluth.
