Mission Statement

The mission of NoteWorthy Kids is to help financially challenged families in the Duluth, MN and Superior, WI area secure music lessons, instruction and instruments for their children.

We know that music can enrich one’s life in so many ways and is an activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. A great deal of research also proves that music is an amazing discipline for the mind. Unfortunately, the families of too many talented children face financial challenges that make it difficult, if not impossible, for these talented kids to take music lessons, receive formal instruction or afford an instrument. On that note, we hope you’ll help us raise the funds required to enable these talented kids to pursue their passion.

NoteWorthy Kids is a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization formed to provide need based financial assistance for private musical education and instruments to Duluth, MN and Superior, WI area children ages six to 18.

Students

To qualify for financial assistance through the NoteWorthy Kids program students must:

  • be between the age of six and 18.
  • live in or attend school in Duluth, Hermantown, or Proctor, MN or Superior, WI.
  • submit an application describing your musical need.
  • submit an application that demonstrates financial need (As a general guideline, students who qualify for free or reduced lunches also qualify for NoteWorthy Kids).

Instructors

NoteWorthy Kids works with well qualified instructors, many of whom are members of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA), Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (WMTA), Duluth Music Teacher’s Association (DMTA), and Arrowhead Music Teacher’s Association (AMTA). To be eligible for the NoteWorthy Kids reimbursement program every instructor must submit an application detailing their credentials and undergo a criminal background check.
