2008 – 2009 NoteworthyKids Music Program

We have changed NoteworthyKids to make it more accessible to kids who love music!

Become a NoteworthyKid!

• See and hear how the VIS practices for a performance (Timetable listed below)

• Meet VI Symphony conductors and musicians

• Learn about the instruments of the orchestra

• Meet other students who represent their schools as NoteworthyKids

• Volunteer to help out at the VI Symphony's Open Dress Rehearsal

• Volunteer help out at Symphony in the Harbour 2008 in the Go Green

• Symphony Zoo Tent on Saturday August 9, 2008. Email us to volunteer: educ@vancouverislandsymphony.com

Teachers and educators can nominate up to 10 students from your school in Grades 4 through 7.

NoteworthyKids Timetable of Activities for 2008-2009: (subject to change)

Students must commit to attending three (3) NoteworthyKids Activities each year from August 2008 - April 2009.

Saturday August 9, 2008 – Volunteer at Symphony in the Harbour 2008! 2- 8 p.m.

NoteworthyKids Rehearsal Events begin at 6:15 p.m. on the dates below at The Port Theatre. These events are for students only and music teachers. Please note that times change as required based on the orchestra’s rehearsal timetable.

No event in December 2008 – we hope all NoteworthyKids will bring their families to the Christmas Shows on December 19 & 20th at the Port Theatre. Special Ticket Coupon awarded to NoteworthyKids in October 2008.

Tuesday February 17, 2009 - 6:15- 7:45 p.m. (Note day of the week change) Backstage at The Port Theatre, use Museum Way Stage door. Variety Club Coin Drive Event – please bring all the coins you have collected for Variety Club. Kids Helping Kids!

Saturday March 21, 2009 – 12:30 – 1:30 Attend and Volunteer at the Symphony’s Annual Open Dress Rehearsal event – bring your family! Donations to the Food Bank. Entrance in the lobby!

Friday April 17, 2009 6:15 – 7:45 p.m. backstage at The Port Theatre, use Museum Way Stage door.
