The Vancouver Island Symphony and the heavenly voices of the British Columbia Boys Choir combine forces to ring in this Holiday Season with a spectacular evening of music and song.

Listen to all your favourite Christmas music including up-lifting renditions by the symphony of Nutcracker Suite and Sleigh Rides just to name a few. Listen to the Boys’ Choir hauntingly beautiful O Holy Night. Join in the carol sing-along to O Come, All Ye Faithful and Joy to the World. After all, how often will you get to lend your voice to one of the most well known choir’s in Canada and have a full complement of professional musicians to back you up? It’s a great family evening filled with all the joy that the holidays have to offer.

This third seasonal Christmas show for the British Columbia Boys Choir and the Vancouver Island Symphony is a very special show for the symphony’s assistant conductor, Gerald van Wyck , as not only is van Wyck an alumni of the choir, but he is also the conductor emeritus of the British Columbia Boys Choir.  He is a passionate believer in music’s ability to inspire and create community which shows in every one of his performances.

It’s a special night for two other of the choir’s alumni. Peter Alexander, will also be in concert, and current artistic director, Tony Araujo, are both looking forward to helping the choir celebrate its 40thAnniversary this year.  Founded in 1968 by Donald Forbes, the British Columbia Boys Choir has won international acclaim throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and China. Over its 40 year history, the Choir has trained over 800 members who have represented Canada on 30 international tours and have produced six popular CD’s.
